The USKA in brief

The Union of Swiss Shortwave Amateurs (USKA) was founded in 1929 and represents around 3,500 members throughout Switzerland. As the umbrella organisation for Swiss radio amateurs, it lobbies public authorities and politicians to preserve and expand the amateur radio frequency bands, to facilitate the installation of external antennas and to find solutions to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues.

The USKA is a member of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) Region 1 and represents the interests of Swiss radio amateurs vis-à-vis the authorities, BAKOM, the IARU and international organisations.
