JOTA 2026: Scouts on the radio

The Jamboree on the Air / Jamboree on the Internet (JOTA-JOTI) will take place from 16 to 18 October 2026.
Swiss Scout groups also take part in JOTA-JOTI and look forward to making contact with radio amateurs. With more than two million participants, JOTA-JOTI is the world’s largest annual youth event.
Each Scout group takes part from its own location, such as the Scout hall or the campsite. The Scouts communicate with their peers in Switzerland, across Europe and around the world via chat, video calls, CB and PMR radio, and, of course, amateur radio.
Licence required
To take part in JOTA on the amateur bands, you naturally need someone with a licence. Anyone who supports a Scout group is giving young people the chance to enjoy a genuine radio experience. The name of the radio operator in charge and the station’s location must be provided at the time of registration so that the Swiss Scout Movement (PBS) can obtain authorisation from OFCOM.
The following Scout groups have already registered:
- Linth Uznach Scouts
- Groupe St-Louis (Peseux, NE)
- Groupe Baslac (St-Blaise, NE)
- Oberland Scout District
- Valais Scouting Association
- Pi and the Herblingen Scouts
- St Martin’s Scout Group, Laupersdorf
- Edrmändli Wallbach
- Ludo Uzwil’s hometown
- Oberrhi Scouts
