Radio DARC reports on USKA’s resistance
Radio presenter Wolf-Dieter, DL2MCD, has reported on Radio DARC on how the USKA is fighting back against the threat of Swiss radio amateurs’ equipment being confiscated in an emergency.
The federal government is seeking to seize the radio transceivers of Swiss radio amateurs. On 26 July 2026, Wolf-Dieter, DL2MCD, outlined the plans of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (VBS) on Radio DARC (frequencies: 6070 kHz and 9670 kHz).
The proposed requisition order would allow the army to access technical equipment in an emergency. The DDPS simply intends to collect the equipment in the event of a crisis. In its consultation response, the USKA calls for cooperation rather than expropriation.
