IARU Reorganisation

The IARU is currently divided into three zones: R1 Europe/Africa, R2 America and R3 Asia Pacific. Each region is essentially a separate association. At the suggestion of the ITU, the IARU is striving to turn this into a global, worldwide association. This would strengthen its global significance and streamline the organisation. The IARU has therefore proposed a new organisational structure.
The USKA supports the project to establish the IARU as a global worldwide association. The headquarters would likely be in Switzerland. However, we consider the proposed organisational structure to be unsuitable and impractical. The USKA has therefore submitted a comprehensive statement and proposed an alternative management structure.
The IARU proposal and the USKA statement in German and English can be viewed here:
Well-known associations in Region 1 have also submitted comments and expressed concerns about the organisational structure proposed by the IARU. It can therefore be assumed that the IARU reorganisation project will be revised again.
We will keep USKA members informed about developments in this matter.
