Web news about the event on 16 and 17 May in Ticino

As last year in Lutry VD, the board wanted to hold its meeting in a different language region, so this year it went to Bellinzona in Ticino. Instead of an evening meeting with a tour the next day, our representative (Franco HB9EDG) for Italian-speaking Switzerland suggested organising a larger meeting with the well-known representatives of Ticino radio amateurs.
This resulted in the following programme. After the board meeting on Friday afternoon (16 May), the sections and collective members were invited to an exchange of ideas with the USKA board at the Hotel Internazionale in Bellinzona. First, Willy HB9AHL presented the services offered by USKA, then the representatives of the two sections HB9EI and HB9H as well as the collective members HB9OK, HB9RL, HB9TA and HB4FG introduced themselves and their activities.
This was followed on Saturday by the 1st HAM RADIO DAY Ticino, to which all radio enthusiasts from Ticino were invited (CB, HB3, HB9, etc.). The entire programme was a smaller-scale version of HAM RADIO: in addition to numerous interesting presentations, there was a flea market and food and drink were provided throughout the day. HAM RADIO DAY Ticino was held at the civil defence centre in Rivera (municipality of Monte Ceneri), which offers excellent facilities. A total of around 100 visitors/participants attended, and Cantonal Councillor R. Soldati gave a presentation on the antenna problem in Ticino. As guest of honour, USKA took the opportunity to explain its strategy for the coming years to the participants.
Our president Bernard HB9ALH wrote in a thank-you email to Franco HB9EDG:
I would like to thank you once again for the event you organised on 16/17 May. Everything was perfect: the location, the enjoyable dinner with key figures in Ticino and the HAM RADIO DAY on Saturday. I also noted that you have good political connections in Ticino. It was a great enrichment for the USKA board. And for you in Ticino, hopefully a continuation of the intensive cooperation between the individual groups. I look forward to continuing to work with you and the people of Ticino.
Franco wrote back:
Thank you very much for everything. It was a real pleasure for me and for those who helped me with the organisation to have you as our guests.
